    Overview

    Reports To:     Line Supervisor

     

    Location:         Brookville, OH

     

    The Brookville, OH Assembler I Set-up, assemble, and test Norgren products while using proper blueprints and work instructions.

     

     

    Responsibilities

    • Assemble and test cylinders, kits, or subassemblies according to work instructions, blueprints, and knowledge of unit, ensuring the quality of products being made are within Norgren standards, resulting in customer satisfaction.
    • Recognize potential problems with products and processes to ensure that Norgren quality standards are maintained.
    • Ensure productivity is maintained at 100% or above to minimize cost to the department, while maintaining schedule integrity.
    • Ensure that accuracy, neatness, and legibility of paperwork is maintained, minimizing cost to the department through elimination of tracking and corrections of mistakes.
    • Maintain and increase job skills to allow for flexibility within the Department.
    • Provide positive team atmosphere through effective communications and respect for fellow employees.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    • 1-3 years mechanical assembly experience with a variety of tools; work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

    Skills and Competencies

    • Must have basic mechanical knowledge and be able to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, and controls.
    • Must have good working knowledge of basic math, to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages and decimals.
    • Must be have basic reading comprehension and writing skills, able to work from verbal and written instructions, and be capable of working with computer terminals and complete routine paperwork.
    • Must be able to read and comprehend engineering prints, assembly process sketches, and procedures.

    The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock.   The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, mild chemicals, and vibration.

     

    The duties of this job frequently require the employee to talk or hear.  The noise level in the work environment usually moderate and sometimes high.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    • The employee will regularly lift, pull, and push materials up to 35 pounds and may be required to perform heavier lifting on occasion with assistance.  
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and/or walk for up to 12 hours per day; assemble small and large parts using fingers, hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders. 
    • Occasional twisting, turning, bending, and stooping are also required to perform the duties of this position.
